Selected mandates — and their results.

Four interim mandates since 2020, described openly. I do not name clients for reasons of confidentiality; industry, starting position and outcome are verifiable and can be referenced on request.

Interim mandates

Austrian mobile operator — AI agents in finance processes

Three parallel projects, one goal: embedding AI agents in existing finance workflows without putting day-to-day operations at risk. I am responsible for scoping, prioritisation and delivery across all three streams, and I keep business, IT and compliance on the same page.

  • Reduce error rates in finance workflows
  • Cut manual rework and media breaks
  • Measurably lower operational risk
  • Roll-out in stages — each with its own acceptance

Austrian private bank — data hub for the outsourced core-banking system

The bank runs its core-banking system with an external provider. In between sits a central piece of software that connects the internal systems with the provider's data centre in real time. I am responsible for the design, further development and stable daily operation of this hub — including preparing to outsource its operation as well.

  • Real-time communication between two data centres
  • Data translation between bank and provider systems
  • Stable daily operations while change is ongoing
  • Preparing the outsourcing of data-pool operations

07/2021 – 02/2022 Industry · Turnaround

European building-materials group — interim head of IT & Operations

Starting position: six of seven IT staff had left the company. Operations were running on sight. My brief: stabilise, rebuild, keep the business reliably supplied — and set up IT so that it works without me after I leave.

  • Rebuilt as a lean team of three plus external partners
  • Company-wide IT security concept
  • SD-WAN aligned with the Dutch parent company
  • Cloud partnerships with Azure and Oracle

Result Measurably higher service quality at lower cost — with three staff instead of seven.

02/2020 – 02/2021 Telecommunications · Programme lead

Austrian mobile operator — integration of three billing systems

Three attempts had failed and the original schedule had run out. I took over as programme lead — and shortly afterwards a second project of equal size in parallel. Both had a fixed end date that was not negotiable.

  • Plan, roles and decision paths set up afresh
  • Two programmes in parallel with one team
  • Fixed deadlines without additional resources

Result Both projects delivered two months ahead of schedule — with the existing team.

Executive coaching — confidential

I do not name coaching clients, not even anonymised. Anyone who comes to me must be able to rely on that. What I can say: the typical reasons people come — and how my clients notice, at the end, that it worked.

  • New in a C-level role: structuring the first 100 days. The outcome is clear priorities and a solid working relationship with the board, the owners and the team.
  • Conflict within the executive team or with the owner that is starting to paralyse the company. Outcome: clarified roles — or a clean separation.
  • Sustained pressure: executives who still function but sense that their reserves are used up. The aim is to address this early — before it becomes an absence.
  • Hard decisions with no sparring partner in-house: restructuring, parting with key people, a sale. Outcome: a decision that has been made — and that the decision-maker can stand behind.
  • Leadership teams that need to become effective again after a merger, a change at the top or a crisis — in the form of team supervision.

Over many years, Robert Pabeschitz has impressed me again and again in our joint projects through his drive for innovation and his customer focus.

Dr. Eva Kühn Institute of Computer Languages, TU Wien

I came to know Robert Pabeschitz as an extremely reliable partner in information technology. His expertise and his ability to find, build and operate business-oriented, innovative solutions won me over as a customer and partner. His open and warm personality has, over decades, led to a stable and, for both sides, highly successful partnership.
