About

I ran companies before I advised them.

Ing. Robert Pabeschitz, MSc — C-level interim manager and executive coach. More than 30 years of responsibility for people, systems and results: as a founder, as a group CTO, as an interim manager.

Robert Pabeschitz

Born in 1967 in Lower Austria. After the HTL St. Pölten technical college I studied business administration at WU Vienna and computer science at TU Wien. In 1988 I took on responsibility for quality assurance in a Siemens AG unit of 140 staff. I was 21. That is where I learned that quality is not a department but a leadership task.

In 1992 I founded pcsysteme.at IT-Service GmbH. The first assignment: the IT infrastructure of an international oil company with more than 600 filling stations in Austria. Out of that grew a mobile invoicing solution, in 2002 a logistics platform, and in 2005 the conversion of the entire business model to software as a service. The company grew to around 300 staff. Not one of those years was a loss-making year — not even the year of the transformation.

In 2014 I sold the company to Touchstar Group LLC in Tulsa, USA. I then led teams on three continents as General Manager EMEA and Group CTO — eight years of group responsibility spanning Europe, Asia-Pacific and the United States. I know corporate structures from the inside: as the person who had to deliver the numbers and keep the people.

In 2020 I founded Pabeschitz Computer Consulting GmbH and have worked as an interim manager since — a Certified Interim Manager (CIM) since 2022. In parallel I formalised my second craft: a master's degree in counselling sciences at Sigmund Freud University, the diploma in life and social counselling, the supervision training. I have supported executives since my first years as an entrepreneur. Today I do it with method — see executive coaching for how.

How I work

Hands-on, not advisory

I do not write recommendations for others to implement. I take on the role, make the decisions and carry them — through to handover.

Lean and agile

Small teams, short paths, visible interim results. What I learned in 30 years of software development holds in the boardroom too: short cycles, early feedback, little ballast.

People, not just systems

Every crisis I have taken over was a leadership question first and a technical one second. That is why I studied counselling sciences. Anyone who wants to fix systems has to bring along the people who run them.

Transparent — even when it is uncomfortable

You hear from me how things stand. Even when the schedule will not hold, the team is not carrying the load or the number in the board deck is wrong. Bad news does not improve with delay.
